On September 7, 2026, the pivotal railway-spanning section project of Huainan Road in Hefei was officially completed and opened to traffic, thoroughly resolving the long-standing traffic disconnection problem in the northern urban area and adding a brand-new landmark super project to Hefei.

This project is the first innovative steel box girder swivel cable-stayed bridge spanning railways in China, as well as the first wide municipal road cable-stayed bridge spanning a railway group in Anhui Province.
The opening of the bridge realizes the north-south through traffic of Huainan Road, completing a key section of Hefei’s main road network. It not only optimizes regional traffic circulation and enables efficient north-south passage, but also further strengthens Hefei’s status as a comprehensive transportation hub, injecting strong momentum into the high-quality development of northern Hefei.
